Magnetic Analysis Corp. will be featuring its newest addition to the Eddy Current Rotary family at Booth # D46362 at the Fabtech 2021 Show, September 13-16 in Chicago. 

The Rotomac® 25 RM is designed for use in slow throughput operations such as cold headers in fastener production, spring makers, and other parts manufacturers.

The Rotomac®25 RM, coupled with MAC’s Minimac® 60/65 eddy current electronics, designed for rotary probe operations, provides cost effective, reliable on-line inspection for longitudinal surface defects in wire and rod. Operating at 1000 RPM, with air ride probes and a single test channel, it handles wire, 1/8” – 1” (3mm – 25mm) diameter, typically used for parts forming. Test probe adjustments are easily accessible. Typical throughput speeds are 12 ft./min to 40 ft./min.  Bushings keep the product centered dur­ing the test and the rotary’s highly accurate distance compensation, when using an absolute probe, permits testing excessively out of round product.  

The Minimac® 50/55 for inspecting wire, rod and tube for short surface and some subsurface defects at speeds up to 4000 f.p.m. will also be on display at the booth.  This eddy current instrument is frequently used for inspecting welding wire, including flux core wire where it can detect missing flux as well as flaws in the wire itself. Finding weld-line faults in tube and checking continuity in single and multi-conductor insulated wire and cable are other applications. Using an MID option, the Minimac® is also very effective for detecting magnetic inclusions in non-magnetic product.
